GOOD FOOD BOX – Cochrane Intern
Position Type: Full-time, contract, 35 hours/week
Employment period: 52 weeks
Salary: $18.00 hour + mileage
Job Area: Cochrane and surrounding area

SCOPE OF POSITION: The Good Food Box Program Intern will coordinate, deliver, and report on the Good Food Box -Cochrane project. The Program Coordinator will work with the staff from the Iroquois Falls Adult Learning Centre to identify and outreach to families/individuals that require food support. The successful candidate will work out of the Cochrane Adult Learning Centre office.
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist in the organizing of promotional events for the Good Food Box - including traditional or digital campaigns and attend to facilitate their success
· Compose and post online content on the company’s website and social media accounts
· Write marketing literature (brochures, press releases etc) to promote the Good Food Box's presence in the market
· Communicate directly with clients and encourage trusting relationships
· Help recruit and coordinate volunteers
· Organize orders
· Communicate with suppliers, retailers, customers etc. to achieve mutual satisfaction
· Order shipment of fruits and vegetables according to customer requirements
· Prepare accurate monthly sales reports for supervisor
· Keep accurate sales records and assist bookkeeper with invoices and receipts
· Help with program expansion to: Smooth Rock Falls, Kapuskasing, Iroquois Falls, Matheson and Ramore.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Candidate must be a new entrant into the workforce, are transitioning to a new career, or the unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field
• Candidate must have not previously participated in an NOHFC funded internship in the 2020 Mandate
• Candidate must be 18 years of age or older
• Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada
• Once hired, the candidate must reside in the Northern Ontario community in which they are employed
• Proficient on digital platforms including, but not limited to Zoom and Microsoft Office
• Demonstrated ability in program planning
• Current knowledge of community resources
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Sensitivity to people of different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
• English is essential. Ability to speak additional languages is highly desirable
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is highly desirable
