Job Summary
Villeneuve Construction is seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Truck and Coach Certified Technician or Apprentice to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of heavy-duty equipment, trucks, and trailers in both shop and field settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections and repairs on trucks and trailers.
- Diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel-powered units, heavy equipment, and related systems.
- Perform mechanical repairs on equipment, both in the shop and through field service calls.
- Install, repair, and maintain equipment attachments.
- Install and align engines and machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Maintain and repair cooling, lubrication, and drivetrain systems.
- Perform incidental welding operations as needed.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
- Provide guidance and support to apprentices.
- Maintain accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
Skills & Requirements
- Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical systems, including schematics and diagnostics.
- Experience with routine maintenance operations.
- Computer literacy for documentation and diagnostics.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to travel for fieldwork as needed.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- A DZ license is considered a valuable asset
